Over the counter

There is an epidemic that has caused 18,893 deaths last year and this epidemic is heroin, and this number does not include deaths from prescription opioid abuse. There is a war on drugs but like most wars the body count only increases. Ohio based Kroger stores have made the decision to make Naloxone an opiate blocker that is used by paramedics and first responder across the America to save lives available over the counter.  “We want families dealing with addiction to know that they can count on having the drug available in the event that they need it,” Jeff Talbot, Kroger vice president of merchandising, said in a statement. I applaud this company that decided it was time to take a stand..  7 4 13 a

Albert Einstein is proved right yet again!

One hundred years ago Albert Einstein hypothesized gravitational waves, ripples in space and time.  Scientists said they first detected the gravitational waves last Sept. 14. They said the waves were the product of a collision between two black holes 30 times as massive as the Sun, located 1.3 billion light years from Earth.  The scientific milestone was achieved using a pair of giant laser detectors in the United States, located in Louisiana and Washington State, capping a long quest to confirm the existence of these waves. The two laser instruments, which work in unison, are known as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO). They are able to detect remarkably small vibrations from passing gravitational waves. This usher in a new way to explore our universe to hear the cosmos.

They heard two black holes go bump in the Night.      einstein-big-idea-merl
