Now Lighter, and non intrusive to walls and back on ETSY
Lighter means that we have achieved one of our original goals, That our wall clocks are non intrusive and do not require you to make a hole in your wall with either a screw a nail or a anchor that may need to be repaired later. By using existing technology we were able to develop a mounting system that is both secure and non invasive to walls and still allows for the clock to be easily removed and reattached to your wall for battery replacement and time changes. Placement of the clock is quick and easy without the need to make a hole and the clock can be moved just has easily without leaving any evidence such as holes or residue on your wall.
Non intrusive means that Auburn/Gray Designs wall clocks can be used in places where you do not want damage your wall or where conventional wall clocks cannot, such has the office or a dorm room, or any place where putting holes in walls is not permitted or feasible because of wall material such has plaster modular wall board or brick.
With the new lighter base material and the non intrusive mounting system we can now offer low cost, low impact, and easy to place promotional clocks the can be placed by a sales representative in seconds without damaging the clients wall. Limited run, custom designed, and sized clocks to promote your business or origination.
Lighter also means less costly shipping in both an economic and ecological sense. We can now offer Free shipping in the lower 48 states and reduced shipping cost everywhere else, and this also reduces our carbon foot print. The new material used to fabricate the clocks structure besides being lighter can also be recycled. All excess materials from the manufacturing of Auburn/Gray Designs wall clocks is now being recycled.
Auburn/Gray Designs wall clocks are still a basic open face design, and they are still each custom made when ordered with the clock face custom printed on a ink jet printer with a acrylic laminate to protect it from moisture and scratches. Although our custom made wall clocks are light weight they are still manufactured to highest standards, and will sit more securely to your wall then most much heavier clocks And has always Auburn/Gray Designs Wall clocks are American Made using American made materials and Quartz movements, We did not change our American Made quality we just improved it.

One hundred years ago Albert Einstein hypothesized gravitational waves, ripples in space and time. Scientists said they first detected the gravitational waves last Sept. 14. They said the waves were the product of a collision between two black holes 30 times as massive as the Sun, located 1.3 billion light years from Earth. The scientific milestone was achieved using a pair of giant laser detectors in the United States, located in Louisiana and Washington State, capping a long quest to confirm the existence of these waves. The two laser instruments, which work in unison, are known as the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO). They are able to detect remarkably small vibrations from passing gravitational waves. This usher in a new way to explore our universe to hear the cosmos.
They heard two black holes go bump in the Night.
Had the chance to take a few days and do something I haven’t done in over 10 years , take a multi day hike on a The Appalachian Trail . So me and two friends threw our packs in the back of a pick up truck and off to the Smoky Mountains for a three day Hike. I checked my ETSY shop one last time before I turned the computer off, an order had just come in, well nothing for it. Will and Donnie waiting in the truck I will send them a note when I get back and let them know it will be a little late. I made sure there was no birthday or wedding deadline, I get those occasionally.
The view from Clingmans Dome was magnificent and the hike to the first shelter was on, and I realized as I walked, long over due. We hiked together talking and taking pictures for a while. but I learned a time ago you hike at your own pace if possible and do not try to match somebody’e else s pace be it faster or slower. So Will being younger was faster, Donnie is almost my age but a little slower so that left me in the middle with long stretches of solitude. So here I am hiking the Appalachian Trail on a beautiful summer day singing the Beatles When I’am 64 , because I am 64, but I could not remember all the words like the grands kids names, because I am 64. So for three days I left my cares down in the low lands breathed clean air, drank water from mountain streams, slept under the stars, and hung out with two good friends. I talked to people I met along the trail, some like us out for a few days, day hikers, and some long distance Hikers ( The thru hikers had already passed through where we were months ago.) and met my first Ridgerunner, A young woman who works for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and who had thru hiked the trail several years ago, Showed me how the cables worked shared a little about her thru hike and made the lunch stop at Double Spring Gap a whole lot cooler. 20 miles and two nights later back in the truck and heading home.
Back home the first thing is to custom print the clock face for that last order. The big Epson printer didn’t get to go a vacation so it decided to throw a hissy fit but I got it printed anyway. I then sent the customer a short note apologizing for the delay in contacting them but that I had been out of town and that there new clock had been printed and would ship as soon as possible. The next morning I had a short note from thanking me for getting back to them.
A few days later as I am putting the last of my camping gear away and marveling that I have no new pains or blisters and seem none the worse for wear and lost only a pair of sunglasses and a few pounds. As I check my shop I find that the customer from West Virginia whose clock was a little late as posted the best review I have ever received. I some times need to be reminded to be grateful, a great hike in beautiful weather, and healthy enough still to do that, good friends, a great review for one of products and most important of all, I got sing “when I’am 64 ” on the Appalachian Trail which was my major goal for this year. and no one heard my off key singing ,How cool is that
One of the good points of being a small company that specializes in custom products for its customer , is that we can respond to those request quickly. As a matter of fact all of our wall clocks are individually made when ordered. So when a customer request changes to a clock design that he intends as a present for his sons fifth birthday we are able to oblige him. So after five messages I get the finial one that says supplely “That it” This custom designed quartz wall clock was purchased through our ESTY shop , which I find make communication between me and my customers hassle free by keeping it very simple for my customers and me
